How important is curiosity to creativity, and is creativity a skill that employers should consider?
Curiosity is integral to a creative mindset. It propels us forward to explore, seek, find out, experiment, and ask questions.
I am a curious woman, wandering from city lights to country roads. I am fascinated and attracted to new, unique, and different things. The joy it brings me to finally figuring things out, finding solutions and answers. I love the process; meeting interesting individuals, exploring cities, taking unexpected trips,
experimenting with new things, being challenged and learning. My ways may be out of the book, but that drives me daily. The uncertainty and journey excite me and urge me to find answers.
Curiosity is the ✨spark✨ that ignites creativity.
In this ever-changing world and unpredictable industry, I believe that creativity is the most valuable skill an individual can possess. It is about asking tough questions and important issues that are relevant with people in order to fully connect with them. It is about collaborating with people to solve problems, create answers, and get a deeper understanding of the world. You will learn more from these, but you will also uncover things you did not know before (Lehigh University 2018).
One can be dense but creative. I bet you a dollar they would solve and overcome almost any problem they face. They think outside the box, finding new and possibly unique solutions that not everyone would be able to do. Curiosity creates grit. Without a burning desire to learn new things, we are unlikely to make major contributions.
I may use different tactics and ways when dealing with certain things that may be out of the norm, but it always works, almost magically.
💡 Have the courage to let your curiosity ignite the creativity in you.
